A visit to the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture is an excellent introduction to the complexity and diversity of the Native American cultures of the region. Here, you can listen to the stories and songs that tell of origins and the long history of the Native people of the Southwest, witness the development of new forms of art, or learn about the contemporary lives and lifeways of the Southwest's indigenous populations.

The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture/Laboratory of Anthropology is a forward-looking institution that interprets and showcases the arts and cultures of indigenous people of the American Southwest. The Museum fulfills its mission by pursuing collections development and preservation, conducting public education and outreach, encouraging research, and creating temporary and permanent exhibitions. Through close collaboration with tribal communities the Museum seeks to honor Native traditions and inspire public appreciation of the unique cultures of the Southwest.

Hours:
Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The museum is closed on Mondays.

Admission:
Admission to the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture costs $5 for New Mexico residents and $7 for non-residents
A 4-day pass for unlimited admission to the four museums in the Museum of New Mexico system and the Museum of Spanish Colonial Art can be purchased for $15.
Museum members and children 16 and under are always admitted free.
Sundays are free for New Mexico residents with ID.
Wednesdays are free for New Mexico resident seniors with ID.

Docent-Guided Tours
Free guided tours of the museum's exhibitions are offered daily at 10:15, 1:30, and 3:00.

Behind-the-Scenes Tours
Behind-the-scenes tours of the museum's world-class collections are offered the first Saturday of the month at 2:00.
